working

Becca and I are having a very productive day, made all the more so by our new desk (one of our house favourites). I have my final exam next Friday, which will complete two years of study for my Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification. Here's hoping I pass!

da da

Zach has certainly found his voice recently. He particularly likes to sit close to a mirror and talk very loudly to himself. This is a post-dinner video - a bid for freedom from the highchair!.. or perhaps calling out for Dada who would be home soon.

I managed to get our camera working for a couple of days - it is very temperamental. so here are some more angles on the new flat..

our new home

We are in our new home!! And we are SO happy to be here. Here is Zach watching our fish while we unpack boxes. This is our only photo as our camera has sadly died after a long and fruitful life...

As of today, we have internet and a landline phone. The move has gone very smoothly and we are delighted with our new home. Zach seems very happy here and has adjusted quickly. The only bad bit has been the nasty bout of viral gastroentoritis that Sam and Zach - and Tri after a day of babysitting Zach - all caught... left behind by the previous owners who we later learned all had it the week they moved out! arghh!

tomorrow

Matt & Oliver come to visit

Last weekend Zach and I spent the day with Matt and Oliver. Anna and Eliza were having a girls day in town, Joseph was at Alton Towers and Sam on his CIM course all day.

After lunch at home , we drove in the horrible rain to the wonderful Horniman Museum in Dulwich. Here we listened to a fantastic story-teller in between the glass cases of old-school museum stuffed animals, gazed at the fish, jelly-fish and seahorses in the little aquarium and our favourite bit - the musical instrument room - packed with hundreds of amazing instruments spanning the centuries.

Vi next to a giant french horn ..

This table was like a giant mac computer - it had a lovely screen where you could touch an instrument and listen to it being played.

Zach waking up as our museum visit came to an end ..

Home for tea..

and off to Tri's flat for bath & bed for Zach, Eliza & Vi. And dinner for the grown-ups! .. if that's what we are now!

bath time

Zach LOVES his bath every evening. He gets so excited as we get him ready on the bath mat and once in the water he lies on his back and makes huge splashes. here he is exploring his lovely rubber duck from Gran and Papa.

He also loves swimming. Sam had a day off last week so was able to come swimming with us. Zach is very brave when I dunk him under water - he looks a little startled but seems to like it.

Driving to the pool..

Ready to jump in.. (note the matching hairstyles)

new things

I've been on a course all weekend, blah.

On Saturday, after my course and a drink with Tom, I met up with the fam at Tri's place for dinner and discovered Zach had his first tooth popping through! Also, my guitar was brought back from Dorset (where I'd kind of abandoned it, unintentionally) by Matt, Anna, Eliza and Vivi (Joseph was at Alton Towers) - thanks guys! So now there is music in the house again. Zach picked it up pretty quickly, as you can see...
