Ice cream

Out for lunch on Saturday, meeting up for a lovely reunion with some friends we haven't seen for a while, Zach enjoyed some ice cream. Not his first encounter, that was with Grandpa up on Lake Windermere, but his second.

He was quite startled by the first finger dipped in ice cream I put to his mouth, but seemed to enjoy the taste. Then, whenever I dipped my finger in the ice cream he would cackle with laughter. The whole experience was hilarious, for Zach and us. (see photos and video below)!

Zach is ONE!

Yesterday was Zach's birthday. We had presents in the morning before Sam went to work. [Thank you family for all the lovely gifts that you sent - Zach is really enjoying ALL of them!]. Zach has been a bit under the weather since his party on Saturday so we had a relaxing day -

Mother's Day

For my first UK Mother's Day as a mother I was brought a delicious breakfast & newspaper, plus an orchid and card from Zach.


We spent the day lazing in the garden...


and drinking cartons of smoothie.

Battersea Park

On Saturday we went with Ben & Kate Hansen to the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea Park. It was fun to see so much art and so many different styles in one place. [It did highlight the relativity of the term 'affordable']


Afterwards we went to a little cafe where Zach had his first Babaccino which he really liked. Zach preferred watching the dogs in the park to looking at art.

He was very tired by the end of the day but enjoyed the train ride home.

Eddie Catz

On Friday we went with friends to Eddie Catz in Wimbledon, which is a warehouse turned in to a kids play place. Zach loved riding the horse and climbing!!

At a local music/nursery rhyme group. Zach loves shaking and banging the instruments.

And is suddenly wanting to walk all the time..

Zach's first tooth brushing experience. He now has four teeth and two more on their way. We thought maybe it was time to start brushing them.
The Hospital gave us this toothbrush and some baby toothpaste in a goodie bag when Zach was born. At the time I couldn't imagine having a baby old enough to brush teeth. And didn't imagine I'd keep track of these items for that long. But it has come around so quickly.. and they haven't moved from our bathroom shelf... waiting for little Zach to get his first teeth.
