Sponsored Toddle

Zach did an excellent job completing his sponsored toddle. He was very tired afterwards.... as was Sam from coaxing Zach all the way around the route. The balloons and stickers along the way helped to keep them going.

Part 3: France

Six Jones boys

Seb & Eddie

Trying the apples in the nearby orchard (part of an agricultural college where they made delicious cider, apple juice, honey, cheese, port, calvados...mmmm!)

Agricultural College through the fields from our place

Zach & Eddie inspecting a caterpillar (highlight of Zach's day - he did NOT want to say goodbye to the poor prodded caterpillar)

The boys adding to a log teepee we found in the woods

Anita & Roo

Lazy morning in the house the day after we went to the Port town of Dieppe to see the Baker Street Jones' off on their way home.

Beautiful early evening walk (best weather we had all week)

The house we stayed in - 'L'Ancienne Forge'

Garden in background where much Croquet, Boules etc were played.

holiday cont...

We eventually found a lodge to stay in for two nights - to dry off and get some proper sleep. It was 5mins walk from a lovely beach so we got in one more beach trip and delicious cold swim.

The cows were scared of us but they loved Zach and would all gather around to look at him.

Zach perfecting his 'Mmoooooooo'

Then a 3 hour drive to Greenbelt in Cheltenham turned in to 8 hours because the Motorway was at a stand-still for five hours!! (everyone was out of their cars wandering up and down the road and chatting to each other). We eventually arrived and pitched our tent at 9:30pm. Had three good nights camping and a great time at the Festival.

Zach's room..

Breakfast..

Toothbrushing

And on for a night in Dover before an early ferry to France.

Camping in Devon

Fish & Chips in our tent the first night, after our long drive

Picking blackberries..

Ahhh a glimmer of sunshine...

Quick, get to the beach!..

More rain and wind!...

After two nights of rain, hurricane (so we're told!) winds and little sleep for Sam & I (Zach slept soundly), we abandoned camping and had an epic day in the car in search of somewhere warm and dry to stay.
