slightly out of place was a closed up, expired play ground. juxtaposed against the otherwise flourishing, affluent surroundings of wandsworth. it was slightly eery. kind of doctor who-ish. bikes and tows were strewn around the place as if kids had been suddenly removed in some bermuda triangle type way.

from the common i would cut across to northcote road (local hive of cafes, markets, little shops and our local) to have a coffee or lunch and a browse in charity shops (op shops) and a long time spent in the library. on one of my visits i discovered heaven and earth, an amazing book containing images taken of the detail of otherwise unseen bits of humans and earth and space. here are some of our favs. can you guess what they are of??

number two is a sperm fertilising an egg!!!! i love your description of your amble along wandsworth common, becca! is that the one near joan and peter's?
number one is skin, number three a cell, number four a multitude of cells and number five is alive!
no! number five is DEAD! number five is strange, mysterious rock formations on the surface of the dwarf planet Eris. Apparently, they have curative powers for healing plantar warts.
good guessing megs - we'll keep you posted. by the way i wrote this post. sambo
Great photos of the common Sam.
There is nothing worse than nagging back pain! Have you returned to work yet?
I am back at work. I really need to do better at sitting properly, I get really lazy and by the end of the day can end up slouched over my computer. A good trick I have found is to get up and move around a bit every 30 mins...
how funny! i could've sworn it was becca's writing style! which is lovely, really, because it means you two influence each other, and are growing together! 'twas a lovely description of your work SAM! and i do hope your back is all better, and becca's kidney is all better! (which is what i was getting mixed up with your back!) riding a bike is good for a back, so it's good you're getting a bike! hooray! i slouch too! i just can't help it. must be genetic.
oh - that common - is it the one near peter and joan's pray tell? if it is, where is your place relative to theirs, and to the common? (for i oft walked upon it whilst staying with them, and on, to you and tom's place in brixton!!)
love, megs
2nd try: Tall people have back problems. I think it's 2 hair follicles copulating, from different angles. W Common looks beautiful, Sam, but that abandoned trike looks tragic. Didn't Peter and Joan live near Clapham Common??
No, Peter and Joan live near Tooting Common. Wandsworth common is west of Clapham Common. Basically if the vicarage at the Chase in Clapaham was 12 o'clock and Ascension was the pivot for the hands, we are at 9 o'clock, but slightly closer to Ascension than the vicarage... Mum, all will be clear to you soon when take you to W common. Although it will be without leaves.
