happy birthday sam

So today we celebrated wonderful sam!!.. with balloons and bagels, gifts and galavanting in chicago. These photos are of Millennium Park which is fabulous with its enormous Crown Fountain designed by Jaume Plensa and inspired by traditional gargoyles and using faces of people from Chicago, Frank Gehry's Pritzker pavilion (where an orchestra were rehearsing) and Anish Kapoor's Cloud Gate sculpture (which looks like a vast silver coffee bean) reflecting the city. We topped off the day with pizza at johanna and john's.

Happy Birthday Sam!!! We're loving your flat, I'm not sure you'll find it easy o get rid of us when you get back. And also, we decided to paint a few of the walls and add some personal touches to the place - hope you don't mind.

How is life in the World's economic and military superpower?

And did you have a nice birthday?

Dave
