a hop, skip and a jump - or 24 hours traveling

a hop, skip and a jump - or 24 travelling

we are sitting in the yahoo! cafe in narita airport (as the photo
shows - notice the JAL plane in the background, could be ours!). it
would appear that the japanese have gone for functionality over
pleasure - dealing in the cyber rather than the aromatic. it is quite
pleasant to be somewhere spared from a starbucks on every corner!

becca and i have just survived the 11 or 12 hours of flying across
europe, russia and china and lastly the japan sea before landing at
tokyo`s narita airport.
we have both showered, lounged on 'lazyboys' (a reclining chair) and
been massaged for 40 by firm japanese hands. it was quite nice being
slightly anxious between showering and massage (the 'lazyboy' stage)
about getting to the massage place on time! the little parlour offered
a 'menu' of physiotheraputic delights. the attached photo has a bit of
what was on offer - an opportunity to "reflesh and relax"! i certainly
feel much more "refleshed" then i did before the massage.

from here it is about a 9 hour flight to sydney. i cannot wait to step
foot on my homeland`s soil once again. after more than two years the
gravity pull has become quite intense. showing becca some of my roots
is a very exciting thing to be doing.

flights to sydney and melbourne are being called over the tannoy. a
truly splendid sound to my ears!
